Happy 2nd Birthday Khloe

Tomorrow Khloe turns 2 years old. I can't believe that she is 2 already! She is growing so fast. However, don't we always say that no matter the age or child? Anyways, she is getting big, and will soon be a big sister! We celebrated a bit early due to the new baby arriving on the 30th. Here are some pictures from the celebration. Happy Birthday Khloe!!!

Kahle Christmas

In order to allow everyone to celebrate Christmas in the Kahle family, we had to extend the holiday season. We all got together the Saturday after Christmas. This was considered Jody's Christmas. All of the Kahle "children" rotate cooking and hosting Christmas. This year was Jody's turn. He had some fantastic food (duck, prime rib, and turkey). Are you shocked that their was food? Let me tell you it was good. We had a great time singing Christmas carols, playing games, and opening presents. Thank you again for your generosity!

Christmas Day

Merry Christmas! We started the day at the Crandall household. We opened gifts and saw what Santa brought. We were again spoiled with so many generous gifts. Thanks Mom, Dad, and Mike! We then had the traditional breakfast of Welsh Rarebit. No one is sure where this tradition starts, but it is a yummy one!

After getting packed up we headed down to Holland for the Partenheimer extended and immediate family Christmas. First off was the whole Partenheimer clan at Aunt Dana and Uncle Kenny's. Another wonderful time! We played some rousing games of cards and ate more than you can imagine.

After spending the afternoon and evening with the extended family we headed back up to the house to celebrate just the 6 of us. Could we be any luckier? Our families have given us such wonderful, thoughtful gifts. Thank you all (Doug, Kathy, Kristen, and Craig)!

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we headed over to the Crandall household to partake in our festivities. This consisted of wrapping presents, church, dinner at Aunt Barbara's, hanging the stockings, and reading The Night Before Christmas. As tradition serves we spend the night with my parents and Michael on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve Eve aka. Christmas Adam

Korey and I have made it a tradition that on Christmas Eve Eve (Christmas Adam) Santa visits, and we open out gifts to each other. This year was no exception. We woke up early to see our gifts from Santa. It is always difficult to sleep in when you know Santa has been there! From what I can tell we were pretty good this year. Korey, Killian, and I all received wonderful gifts from Santa. We then headed up stairs to open the gifts. Korey and I both seemed to spoil each other rotten (Killian as well). Since Christmas Adam fell on a Tuesday, (Killian's normal day care day) he was lucky enough to spend the day with his friends at daycare! Getting Killian there was not a problem however picking him up that evening proved to be more difficult. During the afternoon hours we received a fair amount of ice. This ice turned all of the roads into a skating rink. When we went to pick up Killer, instead of taking 45 minutes in ended up taking 2 hours. Due to the ice we could not go faster than 30 mph on the interstate. Our plan for the evening was to make our "Christmas Dinner" and then go to Christmas Adam church service. However, this did not happen. Church was canceled due to the weather. So, we had a relaxing meal at home and began to pack for the busy days coming up.

I love my new toy! Can you tell Killian is posing?

Davis Christmas 2008

Today, we had our annual Davis Family Christmas. As you know, most of my family events have more food than you can imagine, lots of laughter, and tons of love and this was no exception. The day started off very cold, even frigid like. Sadly, no snow :(. It was nice to be around many warm bodies. After the yummy food and everyone being very full, we celebrated both Johnny's Birthday and all of the December/January birthdays. The cakes were from Classic Cakes, my favorite.

We then went to open the gifts. It seems each year the tree gets smaller and the space gets tighter. It could be that we are getting bigger, either way we love it!

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas"

In the Partenheimer household, we have been ready for Christmas since before Thanksgiving! We are the crazy people that put up their holiday decorations before we even had turkey day. I know nuts, but we can't help it! We didn't add many "new decorations" from last year. We did however get a tree for the "loft". Somehow all of the presents have found their home there.

The new tree and all of the presents!!

I love receiving Christmas cards. It is such a fun way to see what everyone is up to and how their lives are going. I am a dork and I display them for as long as possible. If you have sent us a Christmas card, you are here.....

Speaking of Christmas cards, ours turned out pretty well. It has a lot to do with the pictures we had taken earlier this fall. This year we made a "humble" list, in order to save costs and time. I would be happy to share the JPEG (picture) for you to print, make your desktop, wallpaper your kitchen. Just send me an email, and I'll send it right to you.

This year...

Last year....what a difference a year makes .

Korey also found a Bloomington, IN a cappella group. Their group is called Straight No Chaser. They just came out with a Christmas CD that I love! Check out their you tube video...they are awesome. Enjoy the Holiday Music while it lasts.

Now we are just waiting for Santa come come and visit. He will be visiting here on Christmas Adam (December 23rd), we have connections! Oh and a little snow would be nice :)

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thanksgiving is such a wonderful time to be thankful for all you have. Here in the Partenheimer household, we are beyond thankful for our friends, family, health, home, and of course each other. Our Thanksgiving started the Sunday before at the Crandall household. For the past 50 years, our family (well not me exactly, but my dad and aunt) have been celebrating Thanksgiving with the Hill family. They have been close family friends forever, and it is always nice to celebrate with them. My mom decided to mix and match the china for the meal, which was really fun. We pulled out all of the china that we have from my late grandmommy and aunt Susan. It was neat to see all the different styles.

On Thanksgiving Eve, we headed down to Holland to see the Partenheimer's. We spent the evening enjoying time with family. We had a yummy meal. This was just the beginning of the food coma. On Thanksgiving Day we headed over to Nanny and Poppy Kahle's for a full day and night. We started off with lunch which was amazing! I didn't think I would have room for dinner. The brave soles had their annual football game. Sadly, I don't feel I am super athletic, so I was a wonderful spectator. There were also many games played (cards and board games). I always seem to learn a new game, which I love! After our stomaches were less full, we had another round of fantastic food. Needless to say, we were in a food coma for the entire night. I was a bad blogger in Holland. I did not get my camera out once :( We were too busy enjoying family!

The next morning we woke up bright and early to head back to Indy to meet up with the Crandalls. We then drove to Pittsburgh to see my Cousin Jenny. My parents and I moved to Pittsburgh when I was little. We only lived there for a year (give or take) and anytime we are in the area, we visit the house.

When arriving in Pittsburgh on Friday night, we went to a resturant called The Church Brew House. It was an old church that was turned in to a brew house and restaurant. Kind of strange to be drinking beer in chruch, but it was really fun. The pizza was amazing!

The next morning, we headed to the "strip". This is a strip ( I know hard to believe) of shops and restaurants. We spent the morning browsing and buying different things. For lunch, we went to the famous Primanti Brothers . There is literally a line out the door. When you order, everything comes on your sandwich (french fries, slaw, meat, cheese) . Needless to say, the sandwiches are huge! We decided to stt at the bar, which was a great experience. That afternoon, we went to see the Chirstmas Classic, "A Christmas Story", at a local theater. It was a nice way to get into the holiday spirit. For dinner that evening, we went to Jermone Bettis' Grille 36. This is Jermone Bettis' resturant, which is just feet from the Steelers Stadium. They have 36 T.V.'s, 36 beers, and very cheesy Mac and Cheese.

Sunday morning was another early morning. We went over to Jenny and Todd's to have a home-cooked breakfast. Very good! It was so nice spending the weekend with them and seeing the sights of Pittsburgh. Thanks, Jenny and Todd!!!
