Sleeping on a cloud :)

We decided for our 1st Anniversary (which is not until June 23) to get a new mattress. I know for your 1st Anniversary you are to get something paper. I figure a mattress is made of cotton which can also be used to make paper...maybe? Oh well, it works for us! Our old mattress was a hand me down and frankly was like sleeping on a board. Our new mattress is like sleeping on a cloud :)

Killian turns one!

Killian turned one on Saturday, but do to the race we celebrated today. The party was complete with decorations, homemade doggie cake (peanut butter and carrot), and human cake. The Crandall Clan came over to celebrate with gifts galore. They gave Killian some raw hides, a tennis ball type thing, and a dog book for us. The Partenheimer's (Doug, Kathy, and Kristen) send their love and gift by mail. They gave him TONS of stuffed animals which he loves destroying! Thank you for all of the gifts, Killian loves them :)

The greatest spectacle in racing!

Since we live in Indianapolis the Indy 500 is a huge event. We decided we would participate in the party before the race. A few of Korey's Fraternity brothers plan a weekend full of fun, games, food, adult beverages, sunshine, tents, Porto-potty, music and more! We had amazing weather (which lead to some strange tan lines) and tons of fun!! We enjoyed seeing and hanging out with everyone. Sadly I did not take any pictures, so here is a few I have. Can't wait to next year!

Yard and such

This weekend we decided to do some yard work and make it all pretty. We started off by putting down some new mulch and planted new flowers. For the garage we put up a broom organizer, and shelf for miscellaneous items. We also made a "potty area" in the backyard so Killian stops killing the grass. Keep your fingers crossed he will pee in one spot.

Kristen's Graduation Weekend!

Last weekend (Mother's Day weekend) we took a trip down to Holland for Kristen's graduation from University of Southern Indiana - USI. We spent the day Saturday helping clean up the yard and house. Killian loved it because he got to be outside the entire day without a leash. He did really good staying in the yard. Doug (Korey's Dad) found a turtle as he was mowing. We let Killian play with him, and he just could not figure out what it was. He was just amazed. I decided I was going to keep him, so I named him Myrtle the Turtle. I then found him a lovely box, a water dish, and some food (broccoli). However with in a hour I decided I would not be a good turtle Mommy, due to the fact that I did not enjoy touching or getting close to him. He was meant to be a wild turtle, and now he is roaming the fields of Holland. Sunday, (graduation/mother's day) was spent starting the day with no electricity, watching Kristen get pinned, eating at Lone Star, graduation, and an amazing graduation party. All of which went wonderfully especially Kristen's party. Kathy did such a nice job with all of the food, yummy! Great weekend as usually, and we can't wait to get back to visit!
